David is the principal tutor and Company Chairman. He established Purchasing Management Services as a specialist training provider for the procurement profession in 1977. With over 30 years of experience of researching, formulating and directing training courses, he is regarded internationally as one of the foremost trainers within procurement and supplies management. He set up the current PMS Training Centre in York some 16 years ago and prior to that was Chairman and Chief Executive of Aldwark Management Training, a hotel, golf and conference complex situated on the outskirts of the city.
In addition to the courses run at the PMS Training Centre, David has worked on the development and delivery of in-company training projects with high profile clients since the inception of PMS. Many of these projects have been long-term relationships, for example, with Philips and the Lucas Group. In addition to in-company training in the UK, David has worked with overseas clients in Russia, Malaysia, Singapore and much of Europe.

David is degree educated, a member of the Institute of Management and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply. He is particularly strong in the areas of negotiation skills development, capital equipment purchasing and contract law.
